Rest & Wrest are collectively designed to answer the following question: how might we engage in the practice of law in a manner driven by and integrated with our community, without the need to rely on grants or donations from wealthy funders whose interests are too often at odds with the interests and needs of that community? We seek to answer that question by developing a legal collective partnered with a community cooperative that operate in support of each other. Members of the cooperative would receive a number of benefits in addition to having a voice in the kind of work that we do, including access to trainings, workshops, and in office hours for consultations and legal clinics, peer support opportunities, connection to a network of organizers and activists in Boise, and potential returns on the cost of membership depending on the success of the project.
