Ritchie has litigated many of Idaho’s highest profile, most complex, and largest cases. Legal Director of the ACLU of Idaho for a decade and Justice Architect for Idaho Legal Aid Services before that, courts have commended Ritchie’s “extraordinary performance”—on the record. Ritchie has represented groups including a class of every person facing pending criminal charges in Idaho, adults with developmental disabilities throughout the state, entire housing communities threatened with eviction, Occupy Boise, and every prisoner at Idaho’s largest prison.

Megan is the newest addition to Wrest! While in law school, she represented clients at the university’s Immigration Litigation and Appellate Clinic. Megan began the practical part of her law career at Idaho Legal Aid, where she externed the summer after hew first year of law school. The next summer, Megan joined Wrest as an extern and worked on litigation matters as well as community outreach. Megan was born and raised in Boise, ID and is devoted to championing the voices of community leaders and minoritized folks in Idaho to ensure the future of this land and it’s inhabitants is a future committed to liberation for us all.

Licensed Master of Social Work
Tess engages transformative justice, and liberatory care practices as strategies for supporting and encouraging healing and change. Tess’s focus is on the intersections of race, gender, sexuality, (dis)ability, immigration, power, and incarceration to replace systems of violence with systems of care. They use a trauma-informed, person-centered, and eclectic approach. Tess is a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) and provides sliding-scale counseling, mitigation, and criminal defense-based forensic social work to Wrest clients.

Known for an advocacy style that is equal parts thorough and charismatic, David is a skilled criminal defense and civil rights attorney. He has represented clients at every level of the judiciary, fighting to protect rights in state and federal courts, and advancing cases all the way through the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. At the local level, David spent his early years cutting his teeth as a public defender. Having earned numerous trial and appellate victories, David continues to be a tenacious defender of the accused. As a longtime housing rights advocate, he has successfully kept community members in their homes by defending against illegal rent hikes and evictions. David's legal worldview was shaped early on by a deep respect for critical thinking, autonomy, and standing by those pushed aside. Graduating law school with honors, David developed a strong alignment with indigenous critiques of American law, and was particularly impacted while supporting the Water Protector Legal Collective at Standing Rock in the fall of 2016. In 2022, he co-founded Wrest Collective to build an alternative space for legal advocacy—one that seeks to bypass conventional, oppressive systems to deliver genuine community empowerment and structural change.
